Repotting Without the Guesswork
Repotting does not automatically mean going into a bigger pot. Sometimes a plant needs more room. Sometimes it needs a different mix. Sometimes the best thing you can do is leave the roots alone.
Pot Size
Bigger is not always better. The right size depends on the roots and the plant.
Root Condition
Healthy roots, damaged roots and crowded roots all need slightly different decisions.
Drainage
What happens to water after you pour it in matters just as much as how often you water.
Growing Mix
Different plants need different levels of airflow, moisture retention and drainage around the roots.

Can you help me work out what is wrong with my houseplant? +
Yes. Our Plant Clinic is the best place to start if your plant is struggling and you are not sure why.
We can look at symptoms, roots, watering, growing media, positioning, pests and the conditions around the plant.
Do you offer repotting help? +
Yes. We can help with pot size, root condition, drainage and choosing an appropriate growing mix.
You can also explore our Jungle Mixes for composts, substrates and specialist growing media.
Can you help with houseplant pests? +
Yes. We can help inspect suspicious plants and identify common pests including thrips, spider mites, mealybugs, fungus gnats and scale.
If you suspect pests, contact us before bringing the plant into the shop so we can avoid introducing them to the rest of the Jungle.
What if my plants are too big to bring into the shop? +
Send us photos first, or take a look at our Home Plant Visits.
Home Visits are particularly useful for larger plants, multiple plants or problems that need looking at in the space where they normally live.
Do you only help plants bought from Oh Shoot! Plants? +
Nope.
Your plant can come from us, another plant shop, a garden centre, supermarket or anywhere else. We are still happy to help you work out what it needs.
