Can I bring a sick or dying houseplant into the Plant Clinic? +
Yes. Yellow leaves, drooping stems, brown patches, strange growth or a plant that just seems to be going downhill are exactly the sort of things the Plant Clinic is here for.
Bring it into Oh Shoot! Plants in Congleton and tell us what has been happening. We will look at the plant, its care and the conditions it has been living in.
Can you help work out why my houseplant is struggling? +
Yes. There is rarely one universal reason a plant struggles, so we look at the whole picture rather than calling everything overwatering.
Light, watering, temperature, humidity, growing media, roots, pests and recent changes can all matter.
Can you identify pests on my houseplant? +
Yes. We can help inspect for common houseplant pests including thrips, spider mites, mealybugs, scale and fungus gnats.
We can use magnification and the digital microscope where useful. Please message us before bringing a plant with suspected pests into the shop.
Can you check my plant's roots and growing media? +
Yes. Sometimes the problem is happening below the surface rather than on the leaves.
We can look at root condition, drainage, pot size and whether the current growing mix suits the plant.
Can you tell me if my houseplant is getting enough light? +
Yes. Poor positioning is one of the first things worth checking when a houseplant is not growing properly.
We can talk through the light the plant needs and, where useful, measure light levels instead of relying only on what a room seems like to us.
Do you only help plants bought from Oh Shoot! Plants? +
Nope.
Your plant does not need an Oh Shoot! receipt to enter the clinic. Whether it came from us, another plant shop, a garden centre, a supermarket or somebody gave it to you years ago, we are happy to help you work out what it needs.
How much does the Plant Clinic cost? +
There is no charge to bring your plant into the Oh Shoot! Plant Clinic for help and advice.
If your plant needs anything extra such as repotting, growing media, treatment products or another paid service, we will explain the options and the cost before anything is done.
Do I need to book the Plant Clinic? +
No. The Plant Clinic is a walk in service.
